Prakramika Vocational Institute was founded in Chennai, India in 2015, as a Social Enterprise, by its founder Dr. Gayatri Narasimhan, with an objective to have a dedicated organisation to cater to the educational/training needs of neuro diverse Children/adults, as a service, and thereby equip them to lead an independent and dignified life.
PVI caters to the needs of broad spectrum of neurodiverse community by offering them certified vocational training and skill development courses, free of cost. Currently, the skill development courses are offered as PG Diploma courses and all the courses are online. In addition, PVI provides training, including devising of strategies in setting up ‘Vocational Centres’, to special educators, teachers, parents and care givers of neuro diverse children/adults.

TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, EQUIP THEM TO BE INDEPENDENT, AND INTEGRATE THEM IN THE SOCIETY TO LEAD A MEANINGFUL AND DIGNIFIED LIFE.
The search for answer as to why she was not able to teach a child with autism led the software engineer and management graduate Dr. Gayatri Narasimhan to a totally new field, special education. Today, Dr. Gayatri Narasimhan, is a passionate Special Educator, Inclusive Education specialist, Vocational Trainer and Counsellor, with over a decade of experience in these fields.
Dr. Gayatri is a Doctorate in Special Education and also a Post-Graduate in Psychology besides having specialization in Yoga as therapy, handwriting modification, sensory therapy, behaviour modifications and related professional qualifications. She is also a “POSH Practitioner” and ‘Internal Committee Specialist’ to address grievances related to Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace
Recognising the organisational reach, she founded Prakramika Institute in Chennai, India, in 2015 to work for the betterment of children with special needs.
As the Main faculty of PVI, Dr. Gayatri Narasimhan is involved in providing skill development courses through online to over hundreds of children and young adults with special needs and empower them to work in various industries through collaborations with placement firms. All her work and initiatives towards these children are offered only as a service, but there is no compromise on quality and rigour needed for these courses.
